For those who like their music unpredictable and experimental, there are a couple of reliable presenters in Cleveland. One is the Cleveland Uncommon Sound Project (CUSP) which presents a series of such concerts. Another is promoter New Ghosts, which works with the BOP STOP.
This week, New Ghosts is presenting a free jazz/improvisational ensembled called the Surge Quarter. Its members include Chris Bré, gabby fluke-mogul, Keefe Jackson and Fred Lonberg-Holm who collectively play tandem instrumentation of violincello, saxophones and bass clarinets. Like most such musicians, they have lengthy resumes of collaboration with other similarly minded musicians, and performances across the U.S. and Europe.
The show will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP’s Youtube Channel. For tickets go to surge-quartet-bop-stop.
