River Otters Are the Stars of CVNP’s October Low Power Happy Hour

Wed 10/14 @ 5-7PM

Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s monthly Low Power Happy Hours give people concerned about protecting the environment and nature an opportunity to mingle with like-minded people and learn something from experts about a different topic each month.

October’s event is particularly exciting because the topic is — OTTERS! Not only are river otters unbearable cute and playful, but their return to the Cuyahoga River Watershed is a sign of the improved cleanliness of the water. Presenters from the Akron Zoo will share information about the history of river otters in Northeast Ohio, why they vanished, how they returned, and the ongoing work done to restore their habitats. Hopefully they will share the best times and places to spot them cavorting (typically dawn and dusk; Beaver Marsh is a prime spot.)

Doors opens at 5pm, with networking until the 5:30 presentation starts. At 6:15 there’s a Q&A, with more networking from 6:30-7pm, when the event ends. It takes place at CVNP’s Happy Days Lodge. Get tickets HERE.
