Heights Arts’ Close Encounters series, now in its 20th season, offers chamber music concerts on Sunday afternoons in a variety of intimate settings in and near Cleveland Heights, featuring some of the best classical musicians in the area.
It’s opening concert features a quartet of musicians: violinists Amy Lee and Johanna Zakany, cellist Si-Yan Li, and pianist Yaron Kohlberg, artistic director of the Cleveland International Piano Competition.
Their program includes Mozart’s Duo for Violin and Viola in G Major, K 423; 20th-century Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů’s Duo No.2 for violin and viola; and Johannes Brahms: Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25.
