Artist “Mix & Meet” at Summit Artspace Is an Education and Networking Opportunity

Sat 10/24 @ 1-4PM

Are you an artist or creator in any discipline?  Then you are welcome at Summit Artspace in downtown Akron for an artist open house and mix & meet, where you can meet fellow creators as well as business professionals and people from arts organizations to find out what other artists are up to, what opportunities are available for artists and explore potential collaborations

From 1-2pm, the Mix & Meet is an informal group critique led by artist Abby Cipar, where participants will be encouraged to give positive feedback to fuel dialogue. “All forms of visual art, in-progress or completed, are welcome, and easels and pedestals will be made available for displaying your work,” they say. “A computer and projector will be present in the room for viewing digital media or images.” Each participating artist should provide one piece of work.

From 2:15-3:15pm, local artist Nova Stewart will host a workshop called “Mapping Your Artist Ecosystem.” In it artists will discover how to learn from other artists and share what you know. Artists in this session will create a map of their own resources and opportunities to swap with others.

From 1-4pm, there will be “speed coaching” with grantwriter Grace Carter, multidisciplinary artist Althea Jones, artist and AducateDigital.com founder Nicole Kurtz, professional artist and Massillon Museum’s Chief Development Officer Scot Phillips, and educators/Univeristy of Akron galleries director Arnie Tunstall.

It’s “pay what you wish.” Go HERE for more information.
