Sat 10/24 @ 8PM
The Akron Civic Theatre hosts several of its own benefit events annually. Its annual October event, The Masque, gives patrons the chance to dress up in an elaborate style befitting the ornate Moorish décor of the spectacular theater, which they claim, “is rumored to be haunted.”
The event, inspired by the gruesome Edgar Allan Poe story, “The Masque of the Red Death,” invites costumes, both period and fantastic, masques, headdresses and other elegant attire you couldn’t possibly wear every day. When you arrive at 8pm, you can enjoy cocktails, appetizer and music by Justo Saborit and the Havana Lights as you ogle the other guests and strut your own look. The auditorium opens at 9pm for dancing and more, with immersive performances happening in every nook and cranny (and this theater has a lot of them!)
Your ticket gets you three drinks tickets, hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and dancing all evening. Go HERE to get them. It’s a 21 and over event.
