The Sandusky History Museum, located inside the 1837 Follett House, which is on the National Register of Historical Landmarks, features four floors of exhibits, covering the history of the city of Sandusky and Erie County, from the War of 1812 through today. Learn about both historic events such as presidential visits and the every-day life of ordinary citizens, as well as the history of its economy and industry. The Widow’s Walk offers a panoramic view of Sandusky Bay and the surrounding region. The Sandusky Library Archives a block away collects, preserves, and shares documents, photos, maps, manuscripts and other materials for use by scholars, researchers, journalists and curious citizens.
It’s open Saturdays from April through December, and Wednesday through Saturday from June through Labor Day. Admission is free.
