The Suma Session series, taking place at the legendary Suma Recording studio in Painesville, gives bands the opportunity to raise a little money for their recording project while letting dedicated fans eavesdrop on the recording process. Fans can tour the studio, meet the engineers, listen to the band record, and enjoy some refreshments and snacks afterwards. Attendees also get a digital download of the finished recording.
This week the band hosting a Suma session is Cleveland’s rhythm-driven band that mingles sounds from South America (Peru, Colombia) and beyond in a mix of Cumbia and Latin beats. It features some of the area’s experienced musicians in an array of genres including Neil Chastain on congas and percussion, Tim Lane on percussion, Joe Tomino on drums, John Galvez on guitar and vocals, Ed Sotelo on bass and vocals, Cutty Calhoun on keyboard and vocals, and Jake Fader on guitar, synthesizers and vocals.
