Silver Crest Cellars was added to the growing list of wineries in the Grand River Valley area in June 2018 to grow grapes and turn them into wine. Its specialty is dry red wines, and it’s snagged awards in the San Francisco Chronicle & San Francisco International Wine Competitions for Ohio-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Meritage Blends. If that’s not your favorite type, they also have whites, other reds and sweet heritage wines.
Visit Thursday through Sunday to sample their offerings a glass or buy a bottle. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, and you can bring your own food. Finish the afternoon with a walk down to the Grand River; they’ll just a short stroll from the Riverview Park Trail.
