Playhouse Square, along with Northeast Ohio dance supporters Terry and Sheldon Adelman, are offering area dance lovers a chance to sample some of the area’s multiple offerings ranging from classical ballet to contemporary dance to traditional ethnic styles.
Among the companies performing are the Cleveland Ballet; the Ohio Contemporary Ballet (formerly Verb Ballets); the groundbreaking Dance Wheels which performs choreography that combines wheelchair and “standup” dancers; RhythmiCLE Sound tap Company; Pacific Paradise Entertainment & Halau Ka Pua Mae’ole Kuikanani Polynesian dance; ELEVĀTED hip-hop dance company; Mojuba! Dance Collective, which explores movement through the lens of the African diaspora; SOĀR contemporary dance; and Angelina DiFranco, a dancer, choreographer and dance writer who has performed at festivals and danced with several ensembles including Dancing Wheels.
