Hexagon Books, which was opened in 2024 by a language teacher, was Inspired by a story by Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges that proposed an “infinite library” containing every book ever written in every language. Hexagon Books specialize in bringing the world to northeast Ohio through literature. It doesn’t quite propose to duplicate the mission Borges imagined, but it offers books from around the world, most in the original languages, reflecting a wide array of people and cultures, and allowing people to experience the world without having to travel. It also offers classes in Spanish, Italian, Japanese and French for those who want a more direct interaction with the literature, along with book clubs to share insights and ideas. They also buy used books in line with their mission.
