The duo of Dave Boutette and Kristi Lynn Davis — aka Dave & Kristi — have got the vibe of Oberlin’s Riverdog Barn down pat: they’ve played there every year since 2014.
Dave Boutette was a Detroit garage rocker-turned-singer/songwriter, while Kristi Lynn Davis is a former Rockette, a seemingly odd pair that somehow clicked — both onstage and in real life (They’re husband and wife). With Boutette’s songwriting with Kristi’s natural gift for harmony, they’ve amassed a following throughout the Midwest with a sound that integrates folk, blues, old-school country and more. Their latest album is The Chickadees, released last year.
On their latest return to Riverdog, they’ll be joined by Jason Dennie, a mainstay of the Michigan acoustic roots music scene and Ann Arbor vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/actor Emily Slomovitz, who is grounded in classical, jazz and folk music.
