Sandusky Book Bar is three businesses in one. It’s a coffeeshop, a bar and a bookstore, offering a wide variety of coffee drinks, beer, wine, seltzer, specialty cocktails and mocktails and a menu of munchies including bagels and sourdough loaves, cheese and wine boards, and a tantalizing selection of bakery (brownies, biscotti, biscuits).
The business was opened by Janie Ahner in a former YMCA in early 2023, to offer a friendly, casual environment to have a drink and a snack and browse some books from their selection of new and used books, including new books from local authors, who sometimes stop by to do a talk and signing. In addition, it serves as a community gathering place, hosting events ranging from bingo to yoga to chess to trivia to line dancing.
