Ensemble Theatre, now based at the Marinello Little Theatre at John Carroll University, recently announced its 2026-27 season, which launches on October 2 with Jez Butterworth’s 2019 Tony-winning play The Ferryman, an intense play about an Irish family in 1981, dealing with its fraught past.
This weekend it will be celebrating that season with a season kickoff party and benefit to raise funds for the season as well as for JCU arts programming. The party will feature a sneak peak at the upcoming season to share more about the plays they’re chosen, student performances and a celebration of guest of honor Peter Lawson Jones (who had his first play produced by Ensemble) who, along with other local artists, will share what Ensemble Theatre has meant to him.
