Once again for two days, the hills around Hale Farm & Village will come alive with the sound of music (and the aroma of wine being sipped) at its annual Music in the Valley Folk & Wine Festival.

It partnered with Folknet, Cleveland’s nonprofit acoustic music group, to line up the musicians, including Hunter Skeens and the Forerunners both days from noon-3pm, as well as others performing music in traditional styles informally throughout the village.

As usual there will be displays and demonstrations of the crafts that would’ve been employed by the residents of a 19th-century Ohio village, such as the one Hale recreates, including cooking demonstrations and fermentation and food preservation talks. There’ll be Ohio-made wines and meads for the grown-ups from 10 Ohio wineries and meaderies, fun hands-on activities for all ages and the opportunity to try your hand at traditional skills and crafts.

Music in the Valley is also part of the national America 250 celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, honoring the countries past, and likely drawing more visitors in less onerous conditions than the Great American State Fair in Washington D.C. — if the weather cooperates.
