Mulberry Creek Herb Farm

Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, a family-owned organic herb farm in Huron, was opened by owners Karen and Mark Langan in the mid 1990s, and has become a mecca for gardening enthusiasts from around the region — it’s not unusual to stop in the spacious retail greenhouse and find yourself browsing the basils with a group from Cincinnati, Fort Wayne or Ann Arbor.

Herbs are the core business—you’ll find ones you didn’t know existed and a huge range of selections of more familiar ones such as thymes and mints. But they also specialize in fairy plants and accessories, and carry pollinator perennials, vegetable starters, succulents, and a dizzying number of scented geraniums. There are even pints of Mitchell’s ice cream in the fridge, along with eggs laid by the chickens you can visit out back.

They also have display gardens, a picnic pavilion and a barn where they host vendors and talks during special events such as their late June “Mulberry Market” and their fall Garlic Fest. In the summer, there are food trucks onsite on weekends.

And in 2024, the next generation of planted its flag when the Langans’ son Ben returned to the family farm to open his wine-tasting room, where you can relax at the back of the greenhouse and sip away the afternoon.
