Cowboy Princess Brigade is a new entry into Cleveland’s lively and constantly rejuvenating music scene. Describing themselves as a “glam-mericana-soul band,” the six-piece group, which formed less than two years ago, has quickly become known for its lively, sassy shows, which feature a plethora of instruments including guitar/bass/drums, fiddle, ukulele, banjo and trombone — and even sometimes dancers and other additional performers. The core band includes bandleader/uke player Ruby Rose Weston, guitarist/violinist Nate Bocchicchio, keyboard player Joshua Tucker, trombonist Jon Cox, bassist Freddy Hill and drummers Jeremy McCabe.
The music itself draws on the usual gumbo of American roots music influences from country to jazz to bluegrass to folk to jam, and more, done in their own distinctive, loose-limbed style. The band released its first EP Rolling Up Silver back in the summer of 2024 shortly after coming together, followed by another called Nuggets of Gold. Now they’ll unveil their third one at the BOP STOP. For this show, it’ll be bringing some friends, including Chris DiCola on guitar. Country/folk singer/songwriter Lea Marra (who leads her own band called the River Boys) opens.
The show will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP’s Youtube Channel. Get tickets here.
