Once again, Brite Winter is on the move. Now in its 17th year, the outdoor winter festival started in 2010 on the east bank of the Cuyahoga River near where Merwins Wharf is now, moved up to Ohio City, then down to the West Bank of the Flats, crossing over to the East Bank near Old River Road last year.
This year, it will take place in the Waterloo Arts District in North Collinwood, which provides the mix of outdoor and indoor spaces the festival has provided since its Ohio City Days. It will take place over two blocks of of Waterloo around East 156th Street.
There more than three dozen, mostly local bands and musicians, mostly various flavors of indie rock, will perform on two outdoor stages and six indoor stages, with red-hot young rockers LoConti headlining the event. They’ll be augmented by art installations, firepits and multiple food and drink, all the things people have come to love about this event. There’ll also be kid-friendly activities from 2-6pm, when the festival is more family-oriented. After dark, the adult partiers dominate!
