New Ideas

 OUT WITH THE OLD

New Year’s resolutions can be cleansing, as CoolCleveland columnist Claudia Taller writes, but for lasting impact, she recommends “intentions.” The band New Soft Shoe releases their debut album after 16 years, No Exit New Music present an immersive multimedia extravaganza.

It’s nothing new, say a librarian and a comedian about Cleveland’s worst winters. Two new gallery shows open at BAYArts. Main Street Kent’s second annual Coffee Walk will warm you up. Akron’s Snowball Crawl let’s you sample local craft brews. Experimental local harpist Stephan Haluska creates new sounds with Turkish-American sound artist Ipek Eginli at Waterloo Arts.

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, as Vanity Crash welcomes legends Billy Bass, Denny Sanders and CoolCleveland’s own Anastasia Pantsios to the kick off of our NEO Rewind Series on Fri 1/9 at BOP STOP with Billy, Sat 1/10 at Jilly’s with Anastasia, and Sun 1/11 with Denny, illustrating Northeast Ohio’s leadership and influence in turning David Bowie into an international star. Special guests, exclusive interviews, and electric guitars: it’s a whole new ballgame.
