Rapper/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jinari Kemet is a rapidly rising star in the local music scene, who has been popping up on more and more shows all the time. He’s been everywhere in a variety of formats: solo shows, full band shows with his band the Black Jackets, open mic nights. He’s a big fan of collaboration with other area artists. He was recently named one of the Panza Foundation’s artist/grantees for 2026, an award that should help him raise his profile even more in the coming year. He’s an artist to get to know — and there are lots of opportunities
One chance to out the excitement he’s creating when he hosts his birthday show (because musicians can have no greater gift than getting to perform on their birthday!) with some other local lights: Apostle Jones’ frontman Mikey Silas, colorful and entertaining rapper TobyRaps, and rapper/songwriter James Begin, who has worked with NE Ohio veteran party band Tropidelic.
