The Rust Belt Photo Collective was founded last year with the idea of giving local photographers an opportunity to interact with each other and find opportunities to show their work. One of its ideas was that any member of the open, informal group could find a space and curate a show. So far, members have done shows at the Beachwood Community Center, Doubting Thomas Gallery in Beachland and the Orange Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

Starting this week it will have a new show at the Beck Center for the Arts, curated by collective members Denyce Renee, June Hund and Jamie Richie. Architecture: From the Ground up features more than 40 images by a variety of area photographers, taken in cities across the U.S. They fall in three categories: unique perspectives, landscapes and details.

The show goes on view Friday January 2 and will remain until Friday February 27. An artist reception will take place on Friday February 13 from 6-7:30pm. It’s free and open to all.
