If you’d like to hear expansive versions of familiar holiday tunes played by a full orchestra, it’s not hard to find an opportunity this time of year. Severance Music Center is fully programmed with The Cleveland Orchestra’s holiday concerts, and down south, The Akron Symphony is joining in the fun. They’ll be filling EJ Thomas Hall with all your favorite carols — and you can sing along! They also promise “a few surprises,” but no one much will be surprised when they include an appearance by Santa. Bring the whole family: Mahler and Wagner may not be kid-friendly but this concert is.
