Lorain County’s Riverdog Barn has become a beloved site for indoor/outdoor summer concerts in a peaceful rural setting. Obviously, those are now over for the season (but they’re already teasing some great concerts for next year!), but the indoor Riverdog Gallery on the property continues to present occasional music on a lighter schedule than during the summer.
This Friday, for instance, you have the chance to check out Don Julin’s Trio 25, who’ve dubbed their music “Weather Channel Grass.” (Riverdog calls it ““acoustic string chamber jazz-grass.”) The ensemble is a trio featuring Julin on mandolin, Tom Knific on bass and Hayes Griffin on guitar playing music from Julin’s 2024 release Fractured Fiddle Tunes, on which he reimagined traditional fiddle tunbes, and some of Julin’s own compositions.
