Vocalist/guitarist/composer/visual artist Jenna Fournier has long been known in the local music scene for her dreamy shoegaze-adjacent music that’s by turns airy and propulsive. She fronts the group Niights, which has released several albums, has toured Japan where her music has been distributed, and performs as a solo artist under the name Kid Tigrrr.
Last year, she released her debut album as Kid Tigrrr called Stoned + Animald, that addresses issues such as mental health, addiction and abuse. She claims influences from Smashing Pumpkins, Mazzy Star, My Bloody Valentine, CocoRosie, Grimes, and the Cure. The vinyl version was released on Martha’s Music, the label run by Smashing Pumpkin’ Billy Corgan. That relationship led to Fournier providing backing vocals on Smashing Pumpkins’ recordings and touring with Corgan as his bassist earlier this year.
Now she’s one of the artists taking part in the “One Night Live” club concert tour which pairs emerging artists with small music venues for short tours. She’ll play 11 dates on the east coast and Midwest, including New York City, Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia and a hometown show at the Happy Dog on Friday November 14. Each show pairs the artist with local acts; in Cleveland she’ll be joined by Wish Queen and Elias and the Warning Signs.
