Photographer/filmmaker Robert Banks has done some “straight” photography and documentaries, but he’s well known in the underground film world for his experimental, abstract film work, which has been shown internationally.

Banks and his work will be the centerpiece of an event taking place at the Cleveland Public Library’s MLK branch at University Circle. He’ll sit for a conversation with an equally noted Cleveland-based multimedia artist Georgio Sabino III. The program, titled Jazzed About Photography, will also feature a live performance by local smooth jazz ensemble Horns and Things, a show of work by student photographers and tributes to the late Congressman Louis Stokes.
