Cleveland Heights photography gallery Foothill Galleries is opening a new show by Cleveland-based commercial/industrial David Joseph.

Called Patina of Time, it’s organized around the concept of the “quiet transformation of time.” His style is described as “poetic, precise, and people-less,” as he delves in mundane things such as a rusty hinge or sun-bleached wall to capture the impact of time on the subject.

“My goal as an artist is to celebrate color, composition, and focus to create unforgettable photographs that feel three-dimensional,” says Joseph. “Patina of Time is about honoring the stories embedded in the surfaces around us—the faded, the tarnished, the worn.”

The show opens with a free public reception on Thursday September 4.
