You never know what you might see at Negative Space Gallery in Asia Town Center. If you head up to the gallery’s second floor space, there might be a makers’ market, belly dancers, a festival, your favorite local band or a band you’ve never heard of before.
It’s the latter who’ll be stopping by this week to perform on the stage in its art-packed space. Trouble Notes is described as a “world folk fusion” band that blends prog rock and dance music, classical and global sounds. Based in New York City, they’ve toured their distinctively personal sonic sound all over the world.
Trouble Notes is an international trio of players, including American violinist/vocalist Bennet Cerven, German guitarist Florian Eisenschmidt and Australian drummer Julian Lardis. Their two albums, Lose Your Ties and Liberty Awaits, track their unusual experiences and mix of influences. They fit in well with the eclectic environment of Negative Space.
