Enjoy Some Reggae By the Black River in Lorain

The Ark Band

Sat 7/26 @ 5PM

Looking for a pleasant way to spend a summer evening? How about hanging out by the Black River Landing in Lorain, and listening to the uplifting lilt of some reggae music as breezes waft over from Lake Erie? That’s what the Black River Reggae Fest is offering.

Three of the region’s noted reggae acts, packed with veteran musicians, will be supplying the music:  The Ark Band out of Columbus, formed nearly four decades ago by a pair of brothers from St. Lucia to incorporate the sounds of the Caribbean, Shake (pronounced Shaky) Ground, whose lineup mostly comprises former members of First Light, Cleveland’s reigning rockin’ reggae of the 80s and 90s, and Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. (aka Peace/Love/Unity/Syndicate) Band, fronted by another former First Light member. Since these guys are all friends and play together a lot, don’t be surprised if some inter-band jamming takes place.

Gates open at 5:00 PM. Admission is a mere $10.
