A multimedia fundraiser event with a rising Cleveland native artist is raising money to present her work worldwide. Get tickets here.
Multi-disciplinary artist Ariel Bittner has created an original solo performance work, Mountain Woman, using her own music, movement and video. She has even crafted the set and costumes from natural and recycled materials.

The performance celebrates the raw power of creation and destruction embodied by the awesome natural forces of a volcano. “Through Mountain Woman and all of my work, I create spaces that slow time—inviting wonder, reflection and a deeper connection with the natural world and ourselves,” says Bittner.
On Wed 7/23 at 5:30-7pm at Studio West 117, the artist will be screening a 30-minute video of that performance while she is back in her hometown of Cleveland, on her way to present the performance later this month at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, the world’s largest arts festival.
Ariel Bittner is the daughter of Jean Kosmac and her wife, groundbreaking State Senator Nickie Antonio (D-Lakewood, District 23), who serves as the Minority Leader in the Ohio Senate, who raised Ariel and her sister Stacey, both Lakewood High School graduates. Bittner has since relocated to Portland, Oregon. View a trailer of her performance video here:
“By supporting Mountain Woman, you’re investing in eco-art, mythic storytelling, and independent performance. You’re helping a working artist (me!) bring magic, care, and urgency to a global stage,” urges Bittner. The artist needs to raise over $10K for travel, accommodations in Edinburgh for a month, venue fees, costumes, props and other expenses.

In addition to the 30-minute video of the multimedia performance, “Mountain Woman,” celebrating the raw power of creation and destruction embodied by a volcano, you’ll experience a poetic journey of movement, video and music; a set crafted from natural and recycled materials; a live artist talkback after the screening; free appetizers and a cash bar.
