If you missed the big RiverSweep last month, but you still want to do grab a bag and clean some trash from our waterways and river banks, come on out and join the 26th annual Big Creek Watershed Cleanup, which will be deployed from three west side locations to remove trash from the creek and its surroundings.
No registration is required. Just come by Brookfield Park (Brookfield Avenue between Bellaire and West 130th), the Brooklyn City Fire Station (8400 Memphis Avenue) or the Snow Road Picnic Area (along Big Creek Parkway) to meet up with other volunteers and get your assignment, your work gloves and your trash bag. Dress for work; wear sturdy, closed shoes or boots. Kids are welcome with adult supervision and there will be refreshments for workers.
