Hale Farm & Village in Bath hosts its first special event of the 2025 season with its Sow and Grow Festival.
This festival is closely aligned to the farm’s regular mission of presenting what it was like in a northeast Ohio village in the 19th century. Just as the village recreates the setting, the festival will recreate the activities that took place there, with an emphasis on the farming that shaped the region, with crops such as wheat, corn, oats and vegetables, as well as orchards and livestock. This festival will demonstrate the work and skills that went into maintaining that lifestyle, such as preparing the fields, planting, weeding and harvesting.
There will also be Shire Draft Horse Demonstration and an oxen driving demonstration, showing how animals helped farmers with their work. There will also be demonstrations of essential skills such as beekeeping.
