From time to time, Tremont’s convergence-continuum theater does a short run show — one weekend only — that it calls a “Tweener” since it’s scheduled between productions with regular, full-length runs.
Its latest such show is called Methacular! It’s a one-man show written and performed by Steven Strafford; he’s done it cities from Maine to California. In it he relates the true story of his three years as a sex and crystal meth in Chicago, where he also spent considerable time doing theater in addition to drugs. It was performed and recorded at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre in 2019.
The piece includes storytelling, comedy, original songs, a game show and even documentary footage of interviews with his mother “to bring the audience down into the depths of a life in pursuit of the next high.”
Get tickets to join him on his roller coaster journey here. It takes place at convergence-continuum’s home The Liminis.
