For the 19th year. Kent’s Standing Rock Cultural Arts presents its annual “Who’s Your Mama?” Earth Day Festival Block Party, the culmination of its month-long celebration of Earth Day.
Downtown Kent will be a-buzz with activities including music by Franklin Ave (Cameron Mack and Tim Koehler) and the Standing Rocks, a musical parade by Canton’s En-Rich-Ment Drum Line, Poems from the Tree by third grade students from the KSU WICK Poetry Outreach Program, and an open drum jam — bring your own drums! Dress up like an animal or eco hero for the parade and costume contest and you could win the $100 prize.
There’ll also be vendors and information tables from area environmental groups including the Kent Environmental Council, Portage Park District, the Stormwater Department of Kent, Kent Habitat ReStore, and the Portage County Soil and Water Conservation District which will have a tree sapling giveaway.
The event is free, all ages and open to all.
