If you’ve been thinking about going out to Holden Arboretum in Kirtland but just haven’t gotten around to it, today’s the perfect day. Admission is free on Saturday April 25 and they’re hosting as variety of programs to showcase their diverse, sprawling landscape and the programs they have to offer.
There’s a seedling giveaway (while supplies last) of shrubs and trees that attract pollinators and benefit the environment. There are guided science hikes exploring the Holden landscape (you can sign up in advance), and tables with information about all of Holden’s programs and events. There’s entertainment too, including live music and stiltwalkers, and food trucks to fuel you throughout the day.
You’ll want to come back, or maybe even join! Get more info here.
On the previous day, Friday April 25, Holden’s partner organization the Cleveland Botanical Garden will also be hosting an admission-free open house that includes a seedling giveaway, an Arbor Day ceremonial tree planting at 1pm, a community resource fair with information about a range of community organizations, ranging from Environmental Health Watch to the Cleveland Play House, and special activities for kids.
