The recurring Ekphrastacy evenings at Heights Arts featuring area poets reading work they’ve written responding to the artwork in the current show at the Heights Arts gallery.
The upcoming edition of Ekphrastacy is special because it marks a transition. Current Heights Arts poet laureate Siaara Freeman is ending her two-year term and passing the torch to new poet laureate Michelle R. Smith. A trio of former Heights Arts — Ray McNiece, Gail Bellamy, and Damien McClendon —will join in celebrating the occasion as they share their impressions of the group show Regional Perspective and the spotlight gallery show featuring work by Richard Feinman. Some of the show’s artists will also be on hand to offer their thoughts.
