The Weekend Will Be Filled With Imagery During the Cleveland Poetry Festival

Fri 4/25-Sun 4/27

If rhythm, rhyme and word play get you excited, this is your weekend: The Cleveland Poetry Festival is back.

It starts on Friday at 7pm with a poetry reading at the Transformer Station, featuring Delilah McCrea, Ali Black and Xan Forest Phillips, part of CSU Poetry Center’s Lighthouse Reading Series. It’s free.

Then on Saturday, hit one of our many local independent bookstore on Independent Bookstore Day for the Poetry Crawl. Half a dozen stores (Loganberry, Appletree, Mac’s Backs, Clevo Books, Visible Voice, ThirdSpace Reading Room ) will have in-store poetry readings from 11am through 4pm, staggered in half-hour increments so you could theoretically get to them all if you drive fast and find a parking space. There’s a bonus reading at 5:30pm at the Cedar Lee Parking Lot at 5:30pm, and closing reading and open mic at Literary Cleveland’s office on Larchmere from 7-8:30pm

Finally, on Sunday from 1am-5pm at the Cleveland Museum of Art Community Center at the Pivot Center, there are three workshops and three panels from 11am-5pm. Get tickets here.
