Short.Sweet.Film Fest Shows 275 Short Films in a Week

This year’s 14th annual Short.Sweet.Film Fest shiws how much this event has grown in that time.

Over seven days, it will screen 275 films from 18 countries, including 90 made in northeast Ohio. And it will include an acting contest, a fashion show and a video game fest, making it much more than just a film festival.

The event will take place at Atlas Cinemas Shaker Square kicking off Monday February 24 with a local filmmaker’s night from 7-10pm. Tuesday will spotlight student, local and horror films, with a Q& A with the filmmakers following the screening, from 7-10pm. The acting competition, along with student and international films, takes place on Wednesday and also features a filmmakers Q&A. The Fashion Fest is Thursday, along with student and local films, and on Friday, it’s a miscellany of animation, music video, comedy, drama, horror, experimental and documentary All of those kick off at 7pm and run until 10 or a bit later.

Then on Saturday, the doors open at 10:30am and from noon until 10:15pm, you can gorge on comedy, drama, horror, animation, music videos, family films, science fiction, Asian cinema and films on LGBTQ+ topics. Sunday is another full day with films of various types from noon-9:30: action and thriller films, documentaries, environmental topics, comedies, student films and Best of the Fest with the Short.Sweet.Film competition taking place.
