Cleveland photographer Jef Janis is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art where he discovered his love for photography, especially black and white photography. His work, with a focus on street photography and portraiture, has led him in many directions. His work has appeared in area magazines; he and his wife opened a studio in Tremont; he’s done work for the NASA Research Glenn Center; and he’s had several gallery shows. He’s also a teaching artist at the Cleveland Print Room.
If you’d like to check out his work, he’s the February featured artist at Loganberry Books Annex Gallery where his photos will be on view Thursday February 6 through Sunday March 2. The show opens with a free public reception on February 6 @ 6-8PM.
Jef has taken on the role of teaching artist for The Cleveland Print Room as well as documenting the Cleveland streets for The Cleveland Public Library Archives and Artist in Residence at The Cleveland Museum of Art. Currently he is a Contractor Photographer at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Where he enjoys his role as a visual historian.
