Sax player Justin Tibbs has been busy all over the Akron music scene. He’s performed with a long roster of the area’s top artists including Angie Haze, Free Black!@, Ryan Humbert, Acid Cats, Tommy Lehman and the Speedbumps. He’s performed at a variety of major events such as Akron Porch Rokr, Ingenuity Festival, the Rubber City Jazz and Blues Fest, and Earthquaker Day.
Meanwhile, he’s got a couple of ensembles of his own: JT’s Spark Trio and JT’s Electrik Blackout. The latter had released a couple of recordings including a 2021 EP and a self-titled album in 2022.
JT’s Electrik Blackout will now be bringing their smooth jazz and funk to Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s cozy Happy Days Lodge, with special guest Rachel Osherow. Get tickets here.
