Trick or Treat in a Cemetery and Learn Some Local History as Well

Sun 10/27 @ 4-6PM

There are so many alternatives to trick or treating door to door these days. Churches are holding Halloween parties in their event  halls. Park districts, civic centers and organizations are hosting “trunk or treat” events where kids can come to a central location and get treats from people’s parked cars.

Or how about coming to the Monroe Street Cemetery for a free family-friendly event among the tombstones —no lawn décor needed! Put on your costume and come to meet costumed actors dressed as noted citizens buried there who will share their stories as they hand our treats.

The cemetery grounds are mostly flat, although uneven surfaces in a few areas may be challenging for wheelchairs or strollers. This event is free; no registration is required.
