Learn to Dress Sustainably at Cleveland Botanical Garden Forum

Sat 4/13 @ 10:30-11:30AM

With the popularity of ultra-cheap “fast fashion” from companies such as Shein and Temu, and online “unboxing” videos in which someone opens a mountain of packages containing new clothes to entertain followers, it can seem like climate-destroying waste dominates fashion — but on the other hand, vintage and thrift shopping, clothing swaps, and recycling one’s own garments are said to be on the rise.

If you’re concerned about the piles of throwaway garments, come to the Cleveland Botanical Garden for a program on local sustainable fashion, hosted by Jess Boeke and Sarah Pottle, founders of Rust Belt Fibershed, which aims to build support for locally grown textiles and lessen reliance on “fast fashion.”
