Late last year, Cleveland Photo Fest co-founder Laura D’Alessandro and CPF volunteer June Hund put out a call for a show called Cleveland on the Streets, set to be hung at Gallery East at the Tri-C East Education Center, asking to see photographers’ takes on the Cleveland landscape.
And landscape is pretty much what they got. The show features more than 80 photos by 50 photographers (photographers were invited to submit up to 4 images and they accepted at least one from each one who submitted) — and only a handful feature people on those streets. Most depict its empty streets, its buildings, its industrial infrastructure, its natural infrastructure of woods and water, in both color and black and white. Still, it’s a diverse group of images: different angles, lighting, moods.
Cleveland on the streets opens with a free public reception on Thursday January 18. There’ll be food, refreshments and live music. The show will be on view through February 15.
