Cleveland History Center Celebrates Ferrari with 14 Cars on View

It’s sometimes easy to forget that the Cleveland History Center also includes the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum with its collection of historic cars and planes. But it will be in the spotlight this week when it opens a new show called Ferrari: The Essence of Italian Design.

Ferrari, of course, is known even by those who’ve never seen one, to be one of the world’s top luxury car brands with prices in the multi-millions and older classic models going for more than $50 million. You won’t see a car like that on the Shoreway! First built in 1947, the company has only built around a quarter million cars — total — in its history.

Members of the Ohio Chapter of the Ferrari Club of America provided the 14 cars that will be on display in this show.  They include such models as a 330 Coupe Spyder, a 365 California Spyder, a Dino 246 GTS, a 308 GTS (as seen on the Magnum P.I. TV series] and a Testarossa.

The show opens with a “first look” party that will also celebrate Italian culture, with a cash bar and appetizers from Little Italy’s Borgata Bar. The event is open to the public and ticketholders will also get admission to the rest of the Cleveland History Center. Get tickets here. They’re a bargain; you couldn’t even afford a picture of a Ferrari for what they cost.

The show runs through March 30, 2024.
