Eclectic Cleveland Trio C-Level Release New Album at Grog Shop

Sat 3/4 @ 7PM

Cleveland’s C-Level shouldn’t be confused with lame Cleveland all-female metal band Level-C which somehow landed an undeserved Scene cover back in 2008.

C-Level is a trio of musicians (vocalist/guitarist Dave Deitke, bassist Coda Cross, drummer Pat Boland) who play a freewheeling mix of classic rock, blues, funk, reggae and bluegrass, the type of ebullient sound that gets a lot of parties started. They’ve actually been around for more than a decade, releasing their first record in 2011.

During the pandemic shutdown, the band kept busy working on a new album, its fourth, titled Think 4 Yourself, which it’s releasing this week. And it also organized a lot of socially distanced and online benefit events for a variety of causes (including area music venues), making an extensive network of connection with other local artists who appear on the album: The Quasi Kings, Lea Marra and the Dream Catchers, James Muschler and Cellophane Jane.

“This album is a tribute to the beauty that is the Cleveland music community,” says Deitke. “Throughout the shutdown, in a time that should’ve been the most isolating, we saw people come together and support what they hold dear. We are beyond stoked to get to celebrate our album’s release at the Grog Shop, the place where we had our first show.”

That show takes place there this Saturday March 4. Joint Operation, The Cat’s Meow and the Frans open.
