If you’ve been around the northeast Ohio folk/roots rock music scene at all, the names of guitarist/fiddler Anthony Papaleo, bassist Tom Prebish, drummer Freddy Perez-Stable and guitarist/vocalist Thor Platter are undoubtedly familiar to you. They’ve all played in a variety of bands, partnered with other musicians in numerous configurations and played venues all across the region.
Now they’ve come together in a new project as Country Honk to play traditional country, country rock inspired by the 70s era of bands such as the Eagles, Poco and Pure Prairie League, and some more modern favorites, which hopefully doesn’t mean the inane partying songs heard on today’s country radio.
They’ll be performing at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall. Doors open at 7:30; music starts at 8. Tickets are $15; get them here.
