Note: The Blue Lunch concert and historical walking tour previously scheduled for Cedar Fairmount SummerFEST has been rescheduled for August 25th. The walking tour will meet at the Grandview parking lot (as originally scheduled) and run from 6:30-8. The Blue Lunch concert will be relocated to the parking lot next to Nighttown and will take place from 6:30-8:30.
Note: the Blue Lunch concert scheduled for Thursday June 16 had been moved to Monday June 20— same time, same place — due to the weather forecast.
The Cedar Fairmount Business District in Cleveland Heights kicks off its SummerFest 2022 concert series this week with twice-a-moth concerts in June, July & August featuring the kind of bands that get everybody up on their feet and dancing.
It starts with Yiddishe Cup, who play traditional Jewish klezmer music — the kind you’d hear at bar/bat mitzvahs and Jewish weddings, but with a twist of pop and soul. Grab some food from one of the area’s many restaurants and set up your canvas camp chair in the parking lot on Grandview behind Firestone Auto. You can also meet in the parking lot to take a neighborhood tour with Ken Goldberg, president of the Cleveland Heights Historical Society & the Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission, also between 6:30-8:30.
Blue Lunch will be playing their lively, horn-driven blend of jump blues, swing, R&B & early rock & roll on June 16 20, July 7 and August 4 25, while Cats on Holiday will bring the swamp rock on July 21 and August 11. There’ll also be neighborhood tours on July 21 and August 4. Rain date is the following Monday.
