Craig and Sarah Fitzgerald, both northeast Ohio natives, opened The Sleepy Rooster in South Russell (Chagrin Falls) in early 2021 to give locals a place to grab some breakfast or lunch. Craig’s a graduate of Pittsburgh’s Le Cordon Bleu Institute and worked in upscale locations in Pittsburgh and Florida.
The Sleepy Rooster isn’t that formal but the quality is there with local ingredients forming the basis of breakfast plates such as goetta & eggs, roasted vegetable frittata, and Craig’s Benedict, and lunch items that include soups, salads, hearty sandwiches and specialties such as country fried steak and fried chicken on a biscuit. There are plenty of sides to create your own meal too, always an attractive option for vegetarians. Hours are 8am-2pm Tuesday-Sunday.
