Learn About Cleveland Leaders of the Women’s Suffrage Movement

Wed 3/17 @ 6-7PM

One of the Western Reserve Historical Society’s current exhibits, which you can tour virtually, is Women in Politics/Empowered to Vote, Empowered to Lead, mounted in honor of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

Given pandemic shutdowns, many groups are extending that celebration into 2021. This month, WRHS’s “Speaking of Cleveland: Tales from Cleveland’s Past” is devoted to Cleveland women in the forefront of the suffragist movement. “Battle for the Ballot” will share the stories of a group of Cleveland women who fought for women’s suffrage but didn’t stop there: they went on to establish the good government/voter education group The League of Women Voters. Tickets are $15, $10 for WRHS members.
