Crafty Mart Hosts Crafty Closet Open House & Launches Kickstarter for Its New Space

Sat 3/13 @ 11AM-2PM

Akron’s Crafty Mart, the market for artists, makers and artisans, recently announced the exciting news of its acquisition of a permanent market space in downtown Akron’s Bounce Innovation Hub at 526 South Main Street. It’s used the raw space before, but now with a long-term lease on it, they can begin the process of upgrading and enhancing it.

Come take a look around on Saturday March 13 when it hosts the Crafty Closet Open House.  You’ll be able to take a tour of the Hub’s first floor generator space and its Carbon Black area which will become the marketplace/gallery space. Then you can shop and swap at the Crafty Supply Closet where you can browse what people have cleaned out of their offices, classrooms and workspaces (and they’re always looking for donations!) and fill a tote for $5, or trade your own excessive items. This includes fabric, yarns, beads stained glass pieces, scrapbooking materials and other arts & crafts items. It’s the perfect opportunity for teachers who’ll be going back to in-school classes soon. There’ll even be an opportunity to do a make-and-take craft.

In addition, on this day, Crafty Mart will be launching its Kickstarter campaign to fund the makeover of their new space. Put on your mask and come on down to this socially distanced event.
