Heights Arts’ 19th Annual Holiday Store Opens

Sun 11/1-Wed 12/30

For the 19th year, Heights Arts gallery in the Cedar-Lee district is presenting its annual holiday sale, featuring an array of work, exclusively by local creators.

Starting Sunday November 1, you can shop the work of more than 80 area artists, who produce paintings and prints, jewelry, ceramics, glass and metal works, and holiday items such as card and ornaments. A window display will feature the work of six different artists each week. In addition, the store will be restocked weekly as items sell so stop in several times if you don’t find everything you want on the first visit. Free gift bagging is also available.

Shopping with local artists, businesses and organizations is more important than ever this year, as many were forced to close their doors or cancel special events and the majority of the summer fairs and art/craft shows where artist make most of their income also cancelled this year.

“This will be a critical year not only for artists, but for Heights Arts as well,” says Heights Arts director Rachel Bernstein. “The annual Holiday Store accounts for a significant portion of revenue for us, which, like many arts organizations, has suffered significant loss of visitors, contributions and revenue due to the pandemic.”

Masks are required and there is plenty of hand sanitizer on hand. You can also shop at home through the Heights Arts website, with items available for curbside pick-up. For hours and more information go to heightsarts.org.
