Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Resumes Its Trips

Thu 10/1

Just in time to enjoy the fall colors, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) is resuming its train rides. There will be some changes, of course.

“We’ve been working in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic to make sure we are resuming train rides in a way that protects the safety and health of our passengers, volunteers and staff,” CVSR president/CEO Joe Mazur assures potential riders.

So seating capacity has been cut in half with staggered seating arrangements. Riders will be screened and everyone over 2 will be required to properly wear a mask except when eating or drinking at their seat. And while the café car with snacks and souvenirs won’t be available this year, riders may bring their own packaged and sealed snacks and beverage; no alcoholic beverages or fast food.

Fall Flyer train rides through Cuyahoga Valley National Park will run Thursdays through Sundays, with two trips each day. On Thursday and Saturday, trains will depart from the Akron Northside Depot; on Friday and Sunday, the starting point is the Rockside Road Depot in Independence.

Purchase tickets at cvsr.org or call 330-439-5708.

Look for the popular Polar express to return for the 27thyear, starting Friday November 6. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday October 14.
